Project Manager

Gorilla is looking for a Full-Time Project Manager to join the Chicago Team, as we enter what promises to be our biggest growth year to-date.

Gorilla is a 15 year old web design/development agency specializing in ecommerce for multi-channel companies. We have a unique group in a client driven culture looking to expand our reach to exceed the expectations of our clients. Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the creation, maintenance and delivery of detailed project plans
  • Identifies and scopes client requirements and deliverables
  • Creates project goals and milestones
  • Identifies, documents, and manages scope or deliverable change requests, whether initiated internally or by the client
  • Creates and maintains all project activity
  • Coordinates daily tasks and assigns project resources
  • Tracks all billable hours to ensure the team is on budget.
  • Manages and helps ensure client satisfaction in partnership with the internal team
  • Properly notifies the internal team of any risks, weaknesses or opportunities that could impact the success of the project, escalating issues to upper management as appropriate
  • Plans for and controls quality by reviewing items before delivery to client; monitoring and enhancing internal and external deliverables/documents; working with internal teams on needed revisions/enhancements
  • Coordinates and participates in periodic project reviews
  • Maintains an understanding of the client's operating environment and internal processes and procedures that may affect the project's success; serves as point of contact for clients as needed
  • Ensures the use of best practices and applies lessons learned from previous projects; shares lessons learned with other project management team members

Requirements

  • Displays confidence and enthusiasm when communicating to the client and the internal project team – demonstrates a "can-do" attitude
  • Experience in, and a high comfort level with, a fast-paced, deadline-driven culture
  • Maintains an understanding of industry trends
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
  • 3-7 years of relevant experience managing projects, preferably within an interactive agency
  • Knowledge of project management principles, methodology and techniques
  • Understanding of technical and creative design and development principles
  • Proficient in project planning tools and software
  • Proven organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong business writing skills

Preferred

  • Experience managing technical projects or implementations strongly preferred
  • Experience working directly with developers and designers strongly preferred
  • Understanding of Workamajig
  • SEO or other online marketing experience
