Attracting over 1 million unique visitors per month, Inc.com is a leading online b2b portal, offering news, advice, tools and services, which supplement the company’s popular print publication. In the initial stage of the multi-phase project, Gorilla was asked to provide custom back-end development and integration to expand Inc.com’s ecommerce capabilities, as part of their multi-channel sales strategy using Magento Enterprise.

To create the new single page checkout process, Gorilla adapted the GoMage Light Checkout Magento extension to emulate the existing INC Advisor site, providing brand continuity in addition to a simplified shopping experience.

For a new category of video products being added to the Inc.com site, Gorilla embedded “Buy Now” links, navigating customers directly to the checkout page. “Add to Cart” functionality was also incorporated, allowing users to populate their carts from within the product page, without requiring a page refresh.

To facilitate 2-way communication between Inc.com’s current custom Content Management System and Magento, Gorilla developed a series of web services, integrating the two systems. These processes work collectively behind the scenes to instantly authenticate users and/or prompt for login/registration, extract applicable customer data to pre-populate the checkout form and to determine prior purchase behavior and prioritize product listings accordingly.
