Challenge

Peter Millar, a division of Richemont, is an emerging fashion brand known for superbly crafted men’s and women’s sportswear and apparel designed with timeless flair. Looking to tailor their e-commerce channel to upgrade the user experience and better position themselves as a luxury brand, Peter Millar connected with Gorilla to redesign and enhance their Magento Enterprise site.

Approach

Our first consideration was the need to reach Peter Millar's customers via multiple digital channels. As a result, the site was designed and built around a responsive design framework, which allows Peter Millar to present “intentional” experiences to customers across devices—desktops, laptops, tablets, smartphones—from within a single website instance. This enables any screen ecommerce, and future-proofs the site for new device types, without the need to build and maintain a separate mobile site or smartphone apps. Visually, our design team undertook a complete overhaul of the site, implementing a refined, sophisticated look that perfectly complements the Peter Millar lifestyle.

From the development side, we added color swatching to elegantly present multiple clothing styles, within a single base product. To minimize channel conflict, a store locator directs customers to retail channel partners. And Magento integration with their ERP system gives them better control over their business. Post launch, we continue to support the brand through our private cloud hosting and Gorilla Enhanced Managed Services (GEMS).
