Challenge

With a rich 65 year history and a diverse product lineup that spans sporting goods, games, and branded entertainment merchandise, Franklin Sports has grown to become a trusted name from the sandlots to sports' biggest stages. With a desire to implement a scalable platform and expand their digital brand presence, Franklin Sports teamed up with Gorilla to redesign and re-platform their namesake site on Magento Enterprise.

Approach

We stepped up to the plate, with a completely new site design that captures Franklin’s modern, sports-driven style, without losing sight of the brand’s heritage. Site navigation was re-built from the sitemap up, clearly organizing product categories and implementing new drop-down navigation for quick product access. To showcase their product catalog, pan and zoom functionality on product detail pages serves as a rich information source for the brand’s global retail channel partners and sets the stage for the future implementation of direct-to-consumer e-commerce functionality. And to ensure the site performs as good as it looks, we implemented both frontend and backend optimization techniques to boost page load speed and responsiveness.
