Homes Alive Pet Centre partnered with Gorilla to upgrade their ecommerce channel in order to scale and develop in an increasingly competitive market. Homes Alive Pet Centre is a quickly growing, family-owned Canadian pet supply retailer that recognized the need to shift their ecommerce strategy towards future-looking, strategic solutions to enable growth and continue their expansion beyond brick and mortar.
We began by upgrading the retailer to Magento 2 in order to set them on track towards meeting their ambitious omni-channel goals. Homes Alive has a comprehensive understanding of how their online store feeds customers and revenue to their brick and mortar locations, so we enhanced the front- and back-end of the site to reach those customers by leveraging their existing site as a framework and combining it with native Magento functionality.
Since launch, Homes Alive Pet Centre is able to enjoy an enterprise grade site that no longer requires bandaid fixes. The pet supplier continues to work with Gorilla’s robust Managed Services team on enhancements and future initiatives including:
- Loyalty dollars to use in-store and online
- Order online and pick-up at your closest in-store location
- Frequent feeder program
- Affiliate programs

Key features of the revamped channel include a close integration with their three (and counting) brick and mortar storefronts, allowing for a single view of customer purchasing habits in-store and online, as well as customer-friendly shipping rules to allow for subsidization, in order to make Canadian shipping costs more palatable to the end customer.
