Challenge

Julep is a rapidly-growing beauty brand best known for their line of nail polishes sold individually and as part of a monthly subscription program. Looking to polish their ecommerce platform in order to create a more unique and thoughtful user experience for their users, Julep engaged with Gorilla for a full site technical discovery and redesign on the Magento platform.

Approach

We designed the entire ecommerce solution around the Julep story and their belief that beauty is about connection, not competition. Our design team put together a photography brief, using lifestyle photography to better reflect and communicate the Julep brand. The updated site experience caters to each user segment and includes a custom account section dedicated to customizing and editing the monthly subscription box. In order to optimize the shopping experience, we updated the catalog interfaces to utilize the many different product attributes, making it easier to filter and find each customer’s desired product. We implemented high-level “shop” and “give a gift” call to actions to increase the navigability for purchasing, browsing, and sharing products.
