Challenge

An iconic American brand, Topps continues its 75-year tradition by supplying loyal fans with one-of-a-kind trading cards, collectibles, sports apparel and memorabilia, as well as a wide range of licensed entertainment merchandise. Looking to consolidate multiple web properties into a cohesive ecommerce channel to drive sales and introduce new lines of business, Topps teamed up with Gorilla for a full site redesign and re-platform to Magento Enterprise.

Approach

From a design perspective, it was impossible to take Topps into the future without hearkening back to the brand’s rich past. Our design team accomplished this by implementing a sleek user interface and updated information architecture that incorporates an updated look that is equal parts “classic” and modern. The site contains multiple storefronts within a single instance of Magento, showcasing Topps’ namesake sports collectibles, while also providing a new home for their licensed entertainment division. Key integrations include Authorize.net CIM to securely store payment information and maintain PCI compliance, and UPS Worldship to ship products globally. Post-launch, the site is fully supported by our Managed Services team and dedicated cloud hosting environment.

Outcome

  • Functionally enhanced, redesigned Magento Enterprise implementation
  • Oracle ERP integration with Magento
  • Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) module
  • Other integrations: Cheetah Mail (ESP), Authorize.net, PayPal Payment Gateway

"Working with Gorilla Group, we’re able to deliver a dramatically improved experience to our customers and provide unique, new offerings that separate us from the competition."
