Publicly-traded Transcat is one of North America’s largest distributors of testing and measurement equipment and services, serving customers in the pharmaceutical, industrial manufacturing, energy, and chemical process industries. Transcat partnered Gorilla Group to jumpstart their digital transformation, operationalize ecommerce at scale, and elevate their brand and user experience.
Their complex business model required a simple, elegant solution that creatively solved business challenges, while minimizing over-complicated customizations. However, Transcat’s legacy ERP prevented typical Magento integration. To combat this, we implemented a “headless-like” approach by pairing the best of Magento 2 functionality with a Bespoke middleware, co-developed with the Transcat team, that served as the key connection point between Magento and Transcat’s CRM and ERP systems. This approach created a modular ecosystem that future-proofed the commerce solution, preserved an easier upgrade path, and enabled continual site optimization.
Our Content Strategy & Creative teams collaborated to create a unique voice within a cohesive, conversion-driven design for each Transcat Business Unit. Looking at key customer personas, competitors, and business needs, we evolved unique brand positioning for each business, within an updated, modern design aesthetic that streamlined user experience.

Currently, Transcat has continued their partnership, leveraging our Support & Growth services to continue evolving their their ecommerce channels. Their new site won the 2019 Imagine Excellence Awards Finalist for Best Overall B2B Implementation.
