Building upon HALL Wines’ successful ecommerce launch, the winery’s digital commerce program continued when Gorilla partnered with sister brand WALT to bring a refreshed brand identity to the online channel and differentiate from other Pinot Noir-focused brands.WALT Wines is a family-owned Pinot Noir and Chardonnay producer from the Pacific Coast of California, spanning nearly 1000 miles. After the successful launch of sister brand HALL Wines’ ecommerce channel, the wine producer’s digital commerce program continued when Gorilla partnered WALT to bring a refreshed brand identity to the online channel and differentiate from other Pinot Noir-focused brands.
Seeking to reflect their regional expansion and focus on Pinot Noir, and attract a younger market of wine drinkers, WALT Wines felt their brand no longer effectively showcased their wine’s unique qualities and didn’t reflect their target audience. The Napa Valley winery subsequently created a new, refined brand identity and approached Gorilla to bring the concept to life online.
Gorilla translated this revitalized brand to the WALT website by leveraging the functionality and backend system of the existing HALL Wines ecommerce channel. The revamped channel enables online purchasing, drives loyalty through membership, and enables in-person brand experiences through information about tastings and winery visits.
Gorilla provided design direction and user experience specifications for the new WALT storefront. To start, we conceptualized an entirely new site interface and provided recommendations and incorporated large lifestyle imagery onto product detail pages to match WALT’s refined brand identity. We also created new category landing page user experiences based on target customer groups and built out a vineyard map and notes with information on what makes each location’s wine special.
We provided WALT with significant content strategy guidance, including a full content assessment with a focus on driving wine club membership through informative, relevant content. We helped to build out product detail pages with additional information, including Vineyard Notes and Tasting Notes to educate customers and match the look and feel of WALT’s refreshed brand.
