One of the largest manufacturers of metal products, including metal coil coating, metal roofing components and engineered building systems, for the non-residential construction industry in North America, partnered with Gorilla to enable B2B ecommerce for two of their brands, with future site launches and initiatives planned.
Headquartered in Houston, Texas, the manufacturer was founded in 1984 and has since pursued a number of strategic acquisitions to fill niche areas of the market. The company was driven to implement an ecommerce channel in order to keep pace with their competition, increase revenue through a new sales channel, simplify the purchasing path and make it easier for their customers to do business through an online experience with easy-to-use tools and 24/7/365 support.
We used a phased approach to launch one ecommerce site first, and then the other. With an ambitious launch date set, we worked closely with the team to hit their ultimate project deadline. We actively consulted and shared our expertise with the client to create a project framework and process that worked for both teams and made the most sense for the business.
For one of the projects, we utilized Hybris’ quick-to-market framework to integrate their ERP with SAP Hybris Cloud. In an effort to increase customer adoption and help onboard new customers, we built robust educational and guided content resources leveraging Hybris’ Assisted Service Module. In addition to our development and integration work, our team also reviewed and made recommendations to site designs and wireframes to ensure a consistent and cohesive project.
Within 60 days post-launch, the manufacturer onboarded 600 of their largest accounts to begin their digital self-service transformation. The company’s long-term strategy involves using their B2B sites to act as a foundation for B2B2C branded channels for contractors that sell to end consumers alongside the multi-brand B2B roll out. The manufacturer will continue to work with our team on future initiatives, including supplemental functionality for two additional content-only sites for separate brands, and design and UX work for another brand. We’ll be working with the company’s corporate team to redesign their corporate site as well, which will eventually feed into their gated portals.
